The role involves aluminium welding and fabrication work associated with marine vessel construction, repair, and commercial fabrication projects within a workshop and onsite environment.Key Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Interpret technical drawings, welding specifications, and fabrication plans</li><li>Perform welding, assembly, and repair of pressure vessels, pipes, and fabricated metal components</li><li>Perform MIG welding and metal fabrication duties in accordance with project specifications and Australian standards</li><li>Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair metal structures and marine vessel components</li><li>Prepare, align, and fit metal sections and components for welding and fabrication</li><li>Operate welding equipment, fabrication machinery, and hand and power tools safely and efficiently</li><li>Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure quality, penetration, and compliance with specifications</li><li>Carry out onsite fabrication and repair work as required</li><li>Maintain workplace safety standards and follow safe work procedures at all times</li><li>Assist with workshop maintenance, equipment upkeep, and material preparation</li><li>Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support project delivery</li></ul>Skills and Experience<ul><li>Relevant qualifications and experience aligned with ANZSCO 322312 Pressure Welder</li><li>AQF Certificate III including at least two years of relevant on-the-job training; or</li><li>AQF Certificate IV in a relevant trade discipline</li><li>At least three (3) years of relevant industry experience may substitute for formal qualifications</li><li>Experience in aluminium welding and fabrication preferred</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications</li><li>Strong commitment to workplace health and safety</li></ul>Selection Criteria:&nbsp;<ul><li>Relevant welding certificates are preferred; however, a minimum of 3 years of full-time verified experience in a similar role will be considered.&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in marine aluminum welding, particularly in MIG welding.&nbsp;</li><li>Preference for applicants with experience in commercial or large pleasure craft vessel construction.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be willing to undertake a welding test to be eligible for the position.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to obtain or hold “Working at Heights” and “Confined Spaces” tickets.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work in a drug and alcohol-free environment, with the understanding that random drug and alcohol testing may be required.</li></ul>How to ApplyPlease click “Apply Now” and submit your resume outlining your relevant qualifications and experience.All applications will be treated confidentially.Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
