Daily/monthly/quarterly responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.</li><li>Reconcile adviser commissions, licensee fees, service fees, and regulatory levies (including CSLR), ensuring accurate allocation, tracking of ongoing deductions, and resolution of discrepancies with authorised representatives.</li><li>Prepare and lodge BAS, ensuring correct GST treatment on adviser commissions, service fees, and business expenses in compliance with ATO requirements.</li><li>Maintain the general ledger by posting journals, including accruals, prepayments, and revenue allocations, and complete month-end and year-end close processes.</li><li>Oversee expenditure recognition and payment cycles, including review and processing of supplier invoices (e.g. PI insurance, AFSL-related costs, software subscriptions), ensuring appropriate approvals and accurate financial recording.</li><li>Analyse revenue, adviser remuneration, and operating expenses to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.</li><li>Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support financial reporting integrity and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Administer payroll and associated obligations, ensuring compliance with Single Touch Payroll (STP), superannuation requirements, and relevant legislative updates.</li><li>Prepare audit schedules, year-end financial documentation, and supporting reconciliations, and respond to auditor queries during external audit processes.</li><li>Ensure financial records, adviser payment data, and transaction documentation meet AFSL compliance and audit requirements.</li><li>Maintain and optimise accounting systems (including Xero), and implement improvements to financial processes, automation, and reporting workflows.</li><li>Monitor cash flow and financial position, and report risks, variances, and trends to management.</li><li>Ensure all financial reporting and record-keeping comply with applicable accounting standards, ATO obligations, ASIC requirements, and AFSL regulatory frameworks.</li><li>Provide financial insights and recommendations to management on revenue trends, cost control, and operational efficiency to support business planning and decision-making.</li><li>Advise on improvements to financial processes, accounting systems, and internal controls to enhance compliance, reporting accuracy, and scalability of operations.</li></ul>&nbsp;SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:<ul><li>A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.</li><li>At least 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a professional services, financial services, or AFSL-regulated environment.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements, including GST, BAS, and payroll obligations.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.</li><li>Experience working with accounting systems such as Xero, and the ability to manage and improve financial systems and workflows.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Sound understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes</li><li>High level of attention to detail and strong communication skills</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and regulated environment</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
